Okay, now its time to announce the winner of 5000 Entrecard giveaway contest. As I told you in my previous post that the contest is not doing much for me as I was assuming it to do. Though I earn few e-mail subscribers and some blog posts about the contest but not as many as I was expecting. May be due to the bad marketing of the contest or you guys think 5000 Entrecard Credits are not enough to enter in a contest like this.

I have not included those e-mail subscribers in the participant list who just fill in the e-mail subscription form and not actually confirm and activated the e-mail subscription. Sorry but you need to activate the e-mail subscription link to compete in the contest.

I list down the participant and used random.org services for drawing the winner. I randomized the list and the winner is …

Clickbooth

Clickbooth is the best choice to make money online if you opt for CPA price model advertising on your website. But before we precede further elaborating Clickbooth let me explain what CPA pricing model is. According to Wikipedia

Cost Per Action or CPA is an online advertising pricing model, where the advertiser pays for each specified action (a purchase, a form submission, and so on) linked to the advertisement. Direct response advertisers consider CPA the optimal way to buy online advertising, as an advertiser only pays for the ad when the desired action has occurred. An action can be a product being purchased, a form being filled, etc.

Basically if you decide to put advertisement on your website; compensation of which is payable to you on the basis of CPA pricing model then you will get paid when someone click the advertisement and visit advertiser’s campaign landing page and do some actions -like signing up for e-mail, purchasing of goods, or a filling a form or form submission whatever the advertiser demands. It will then only amount a sale and you will get paid by the advertiser for it through your affiliates.

As a payment model, CPA means advertisers pay publishers per lead. The lead is a set action by the advertiser which publishers’ users must complete. Such actions range from inputting email address or zip codes to purchasing a product. Payouts for set actions vary accordingly.

Why CPA pricing Model?

80% of affiliate programs today use revenue sharing or cost per sale (CPS) as compensation method, 19% use cost per action (CPA) and the remaining 1% are other methods. Its very interesting Margaret from eyespi20.com asks her readers in her blog “Is Shanker Bakshi the Next John Chow? ” She says-

Its quite apparent that he is a worshipper at the John Chow altar of online success since, without the lunch posts, he emulates Mr Chow in many things and writes about him often. I think Mr. Bakshi is successful enough in his own right and more importantly, with the style that’s emerging as time goes by that’s uniquely his own that he could now afford to sever those apron strings.

If you ask me the same question I will smile and say “God Knows”.There is only One John Chow. I better be myself –the original Shanker Bakshi. Read the full article HERE

How much passion you have for blogging?

April 23, 2008 by Shanker Bakshi

Whizzkid

I can’t stay away from my blog for long, I eat it, I breath it and I loved it more then anything else. Its just like my second love. Ask my wife and she will explain how much passionate I am for blogging?

Blog for your passion not for the sake of money.

John Chow said it in an interview given to TV breakfast news show that “one mistake people usually dose is that they blog for the money and not for their passion”. Its 100% true. Your each and every post should come out from within; it should reflect your passion for your blogging desire.

Passion is:
· Feeling or emotion
· The trait of being intensely emotional
· Something that is desired intensely
· An irrational but irresistible motive for a belief or action
· Any object of warm affection or devotion
· The suffering of Jesus at the crucifixion

So your blog must portray your inner desire. It must tell about your hunger, which you have about writing post and your love about people who comment on that. It should also depict your personality, as its speak on behalf of you as a person.

Money is a peripheral that comes along with success.

Money is an attachment, a peripheral, and a secondary object, which comes along when you get success. The format of business entrepreneurship is so designed that when you get succeeds, the inflow of money will automatically come under your way. People love to spend money to get a “specific word” pronounced from your mouth.

Go on and embrace your blogging passion.

Drown yourself down in that pool of your passion. Go and steal the show, tell them how crazy you are to be there and in doing that.

And the world ranking of many sites affected by that. But the good news is that if you were fed up with this message which was appearing every time you checked up your blog ranking that it is NOT IN TOP 100,000 is now over and as a result new site with ranking over 100,000 can also have its graph telling stories about its traffic for the last three months.

When Alexa began displaying rankings in 1998 it was with the goal of showing Alexa Toolbar users how popular any given site was within the Alexa community. We generated the rankings through an analysis of Internet usage by people who use the Alexa Toolbar. Since that time we’ve been delighted to see that the Alexa Rankings have become a yardstick by which website popularity is measured. We are grateful to the thousands of people who come to Alexa.com each day to check the Alexa Rankings.

We believe that our new rankings system is much closer to what you asked for. We now aggregate data from multiple sources to give you a better indication of website popularity among the entire population of Internet users. We won’t tell any secrets just yet, but you can expect to see new features rolled out over the coming weeks and months.

Five Reasons Why You Should and Should Not Comment

April 18, 2008 by Shanker Bakshi

comments

One Bad Comment, Yes one bad comment and you can loose your friend. I am saying this with my personal experience that I learn over the time. I did this mistake once and I loose one of my best buddy and some other guys associated with him (who also criticize me for making things unpleasant) so while you make any comment on blog you have to keep few things intact in your mind. These are my views on comments, your may be different from mine, if they are I would certainly like to hear from you. Please write it down below in comment form.

Five reasons why you should not comment on blogs

[1] Don’t Comment when you have nothing to say

Despite of this fact people comment on blogs just like Great, Good, Nice Post etc. This is nothing but just showing that you are selfish person and need only a back link from that link which you leave while commenting, and you don’t anything great to express.

[2] Discuss and not Dispute

You can discuss your views on the post in form of comments and if possible by replying in threaded comments but don’t just force everybody there to accept your view and don’t mess up with the whole topic.

[3] Don’t comment just to include your name in TOP COMMENTATOR list

People are over smart, when they see top commentator widget installed on certain blog they instantly look at the bottom for bearing in mind how many comments has been made by that last commentator in that list. If lets say comments made by the bottom last commentator are five then they will pick up six latest posts and start commenting as fast as a derby horse. Are you serious? Are you really making any point up there?

[4] People don’t love annoying comments

Please do not ruin someone’s pleasant morning. Please do not make any comment that burn up the ass of that hard working blog publisher. Be respectful to others. Make value addition to the topic. Be sensible learn the art of saying harsh words politely. Articulate your sayings. Make some points in your comments and don’t be noisy all the time.

[5] Don’t use comment as traffic generating tools

80% of blogger visit back to your site via link which you create while commenting but don’t just use commenting as traffic generating tool. Believe me there are other more good tools are available for that purpose.

Five reasons why you should comment on blogs

[1] Comment even if you have very little to say

Now this is very interesting, your small little encouraging word will definitely boost up the moral of blog publisher. Even if you have not enough time to make solid comment just leave a small message that you like that post. That’s it.

[2] Discuss the topic and create dispute if you can

Mingle with the big boy, make noise and make your point listen by all the people in the forum or in a post comment. There is this kid named Neil Patel who says if you want to rich? then start talking shit. Spill and spread around your logics. Be there and try to hit the blogsphere hard, prove your existence.

[3] Try to be in the TOP COMMENTATOR list

This is the only way thru which you can have quality back link from big boy’s blog. Always visit there and make some good comments. Now tell me if by commenting and including your name in to the top commentator list your blog can get that extra edge, recognition and quality link then why you should not do that? It’s not a big SIN.

[4] People love all kind of comments

Don’t hesitate that your comment will annoy somebody; people love to see comments on their blog. Go ahead guys and say whatever you wish, it’s a free world, don’t forget the administrator or publisher always has this choice to delete or moderate your comments so why hesitate in expressing your view – harsh or straight.

[5] Comments to generate traffic

If comments can generate good traffic and help you winning some unique visitor to your site then what is the big deal in using commenting as a traffic tool. Do whatever you wish to boost some extra traffic to your site whether it is thru commenting or by any other mean for that matter.

Conclusion

Now you are definitely searching for me to kill. The reasons I give you for not commenting on blogs are the same for commenting on blog, that mean there is no hard and fast rule that govern commenting on blogs. In the real world you always use some rationale for doing or not doing anything, so you are the better judge in deciding what to do and what not to do while commenting. But yes be sincere and be real while commenting on blogs.

Make Money online with TNX

April 17, 2008 by Shanker Bakshi

Sell links on every page of your site to thousands of advertisers!

It’s not a rocket science anymore; to make your site PageRank up in search engines you need some quality back links inbounds from various High PR sites to your site. There are two possible “human ways” through which you can achieve this situation.

1. Reciprocate links with buddies
2. Buy some quality links from high PR sites

You know very well the first process is very time consuming, so you go for the other option available, but yes there is this doubt comes in your mind, Will Google slap your site and throw your site out of their index for acquiring paid links. Yes Google will surely do this. Now the million-dollar question is; can we do this in any legitimate way. The answer to this frequently asked has been sorted out. There is one site, which can help you getting as much back links as you wish moreover you can make money even by selling paid links from your site with this new free tool which makes paid links look NATURAL for Google. See what they are saying on this-

There are no marks of any kind that would let search engines identify links sold or purchased through TNX. All links look like they were installed manually, so there is absolutely no way a search engine can identify your website is selling or purchasing links through the TNX system.

This is exactly what you were looking for, you can earn points by showing paid link on your site which although you can convert in hard cash or you can use it for buying paid links.

Let us see how this system works?

TNX.net allows publishers to sell links on their website, and for advertisers it allows to buy millions of links from other site, so in just few minutes you can have thousands of links from hundreds of high quality relevant sites linking to yours site. Whatever points you earn by showing paid link on your site you can use it to promote your own websites by taking advantage of TNX system as an advertiser. That’s so cool.

How you can use this system as Website Publisher?

[1] You can make money by selling links; not only you can sell links on main page but you can sell it on sub-pages of your website. That mean if you have a website that has lets say 1000 pages and you choose to sell five links on every page then by the simple mathematics you can come to know how many links you can sell for money. WOW!!!

[2] You have various option to utilize points earn by selling links on your pages. You can sell them for cash to other TNX members, sell them back directly to TNX or use them to buy links from various High PR sites. So it’s a unique WIN WIN situation.

[3] Its simple to sign up and install TNX code for selling links on your site, if you are concerned about what kind of links you will get to display on your site then its worth mentioning here that once ad space on your website is sold, you can see list of all links and URLs in your control panel. You will have an option to block ads, delete them or ban the entire website which advertising you don’t like. You will have the complete control over links that will appear on your site. Ads will be identical to your site category.

How you can use this system as Advertiser?

[1] It’s the most effective system to market your site. You can buy links using points earned and advertise on thousands of high priced websites. By purchasing quality of links and preferred link anchor texts you can generate that extra traffic from targeted sites with targeted KEYWORD which will in return increase your PR and search engine results for a given keyword search.

[2] Pricing of links ads is so designed that you can choose to advertise from various options available. For example if you have 5000 points in hands then you can purchase up to 5000 links from pages with PR 0 or you may choose to purchase 10 links from pages with PR 4. The choice is yours.

How you can use the system as Affiliates?

TNX proposes an affiliate program which is beyond doubt participating and different from what we see usually. You can earn point by referring publishers to TNX system. When you refer someone to TNX and advertiser pays 100 TNX-Points for a link on your referral’s website, in that case your referral will get 75 points and you get 10 points. Which is mean you have been offered 13.3% of his income. Now that’s what I call a real profit sharing affiliate program.

Whats new at TNX?

If you sign up TNX today you will get 2,000 points on your account absolutely free for testing out the system. In case you join the TNX as a webmaster you will get 5,000 TNX-Points absolutely free of charge. You can use these points to buy 5000 links from quality web pages. So why wait sign up now.

TNX system is hitting the blogsphere hard as you can judge from the stats that as of today TNX have 53521 users, links in the system are 22948047 and number of pages indexed by TNX are 34856524. It seems to me if everyone is using the TNX system to market their site as well as making fast money, well I am already into it let see where it takes me from here what say.

Miss India 2008

MEET THE BEAUTIES FIRST: Pantaloons Femina Miss India World Parvathy Omanakuttan (centre) is followed by Pantaloons Femina Miss India Universe Simran Kaur Mundi (right) and Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth Harshita Saxena after the crowning ceremony in Mumbai on Saturday 5th April 2008

On 11th April – Miss India Earth winner, Harshita Saxena, voluntarily surrendered the title and withdrew her candidature from the pageant in view of certain contract violations cited by Gladrags officials.

Now this was very sad and unexpected from Gladrags. If due to any term of the contract between Harshita Saxena and Gladrags bar her to participate in Miss India contest then Gladrags must have bring it in her knowledge while she was participate in the beauty pageant, I mean if you ask someone to return the title after winning it on the basis that it is violating the contract is totally unfair and I must call it a stupid and foolish act.

I condemned Gladrags for doing this and forcing Harshita to return her Miss India Earth Title after wining it. On the other hand Harshita must also be knowing what she is doing, is this allow in contract she has with some other company or not.

Anyway her title is now passed to another contestant Tanvi Vyas (you had a great luck here)

I wanted to know from you people who’s fault you see in this case – Is it Gladrags or Harshita Saxena.

In the end I want to give you another shock; the contract between Harshita and Gladrags expired on April 8, 2008 just three days after the finals of Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2008 contest, that means when she won this title her contract had unexpired period of 3 days only. Bad Luck Harshita.

What Excuses You Makes When You Do Not Succeed?

April 8, 2008 by Shanker Bakshi

Excuses

Success is a bless; it makes a person more courteous, down to earth happy and cheerful. A successful person speaks with authority, walk with confidence and command with influence. A successful person always meets and greets people with a big smile on his face. A successful person always encourages people to do the same he is doing, he always inspires people to achieve their dreams and guide them for living an impressive life.

But what unsuccessful man does. He always comes up with some excuses. He always has some valid reason to define why he failed to produce results. Success has different meaning for different people, but every one knows in someway or the other that he/she falls in which brackets, I mean he is a successful person or a failure.

I try to dig out some of the reasons which a person who is unsuccessful throws out when ask him about his story.

Excuse No. 1 : Ah I do have that much of luck

In this part of the world people love to blame all on the luck, they always claim that if they had a little bit of luck on their side they could create wonders. Is it so? Now tell me how much luck plays a part in someone’s success? I guess it is worth answering question.

Excuse No. 2 : oh my family did not support me at all

I believe that for getting success, you need someone’s support and yes if you can find that support within your family then its great. But do you also feel that it can be a reason of someone’s failure when his family stood against his decisions?

Excuse No. 3 : I am married and have obligation on my shoulder

Some of the people whom I interacted on this subject were of the opinion that a person can achieve success until he is free from all strings. The day he gets married it’s very hard for him to get his dreams come true to reality. Now again I consider this as an excuse for hiding one’s weaknesses, there are examples when a person get his due success after marriage or after becoming father for that matter.

Excuse No. 4 : Financial constraints

Money is very important for making things happen, but it’s not the only thing which can take you there. I believe many dreams ruined without lack of financial support. What role money plays in getting success is again a debatable question.

Excuse No. 5 : I don’t have time; I am stuck up in my job

Lots of people live with this excuse for years. Having no time to devote yourself in doing the thing you love most and which you always wish to do is a big limitation. To achieve that success for which you are craving from years you need to put some extra efforts. There are examples when people start working after hours, see some success in their hard work and then left the job to give over full time to their dream career.

Conclusion

Like a successful man always has many stories to prove his worth an unsuccessful man also has many stories to defend his failure. I consider all the above as excuses because I know; if you are hungry for success nothing can come in your way. One day or the other you will be right there (with your family :-)   )

All the Best

This post is based on a survey conducted by me and my team taking a sample of over 100 people from various places through verbal discussion and exchange of thoughts through e-mails. Blogging is a new phenomenon that hitting new generation. They can easily express their thoughts view and vision thru blogging. But to my surprise there were few myths about blogging that we come to know from these people. I would like to clear the air and presenting my take on these myths that people have about blogging.

Myth No. 1: You need to be a Tech Geek to become a blogger

Now, that’s quite interesting lots of people express that they want to start blogging but do not know much about HTML or PHP, they said they are not very much into website development so they can’t start blogging. So all you peoples out there must know that it a myth, you don’t have to be a Tech Geek to start blogging you don’t need to be a HTML or PHP master to start blogging, you need not to be a We site developer for becoming a blogger. The only knowledge that you need is to how to operate a computer and basic understanding of internet. That’s it, believe me.

Myth No. 2: Blogging is a Costly affair

Many people think that blogging is a costly affair, it require some investment to start blogging. Well in reality blogging cost nothing. If you have a Gmail account you can start blogging instantly, right from today, without spending a single penny. There are many websites which provide people a platform for blogging like Blogger, Typepad, Ibibo, WordPress dot com Live Journal etc. All you have to do is to create an account with them and you yes are done, you can start blogging. These sites will provide you a URL which will be like your blog name and that website name suffix/prefix with it.

But if you wish to have your own domain name like www.Yourwebsitename.com then you need to spend some money to register a domain name and to buy some space on web. After that you can install WordPress Blogging Software on it which is off course is free blogging software. So it’s a very little amount of money that you need to spend to start blogging with your own brand domain name, that money will not be more then the cost of a ceiling fan or a branded shirt.

Myth No. 3 Bloggers are making BIG money online

It’s not that hard to make money online with blogging, but it’s also not that easy to make money online. It’s a myth that bloggers are making huge money online with blogging, there are very few who are doing so. I know couple of bloggers who are blogging for last one year and not even make it to US$ 100 so that Google can send them their first AdSense cheque (check). Most of the blogger never cross the threshold limit fixed by the various affiliates so that to qualify for getting paid. If you are making big money online with blogging then you are fortunate and done an unbelievable, sleepless, restless hard work to come to this stage. Am I Right?

Myth No. 4: Blogging is a hobby not a Profession

Most of the people we survey still believe that you can not make blogging as a full time profession, for them it’s a hobby, just an idea to spend some time and to my surprise some of them said that it just like an off line chatting system. Well, what to say, there are examples, lots of bloggers are doing it as their profession. They have proved it and if you great writing skill then you can make a living by blogging itself. Take the example of Darren Rowse or Shoemoney or Tech Church and even John Chow they all are know in the blogsphere as professional bloggers. You can also write for various other blog for money. Look this page for bloggers Job Here.

Myth No. 5: For Blogging you need lots of free time

Well, many people we talk to, think that it’s a time consuming job, in fact to the contrary its take hardy one or two hour of your daily routine. You may think over your topic all the day long, draft it on a paper, but to put on the website or to publish it on your blog it require only one hour or so of your time. If you are good at typing you can finish it off in just half an hour. I mean it.
