SEO Sucks – Oh Really?

by Shanker Bakshi on August 25, 2008

Skill to pay the bills – Thats what his Meta Tag Title conveys – He never claim himself a SEO but love to move up his thin (once Fat) ass among SEOs . I admire him for his wittiness, this super kid Jeremy Schoemaker did a fun.

At SES I thought I would spice it up a bit and wear my “Seo Sucks” t-shirt as a bit of a social experiment to see what kind of reaction it would get. Being at the largest and most respected SEO gathering/conference I was curious to the reactions.

So guys whats your take on his social experiment. Do you really think SEO Sucks?

I wonder what were the reactions at the conference. I’m not keen about SEO and how it helps ones pr. If it sucks, or not? Well, it sucks to those who have been trying all the means about SEO and yet getting low or no PR at all.

As a blogger, I get almost all my traffic from google search engine. I can’t live without it. I wonder why people don’t work on their SEO rather than spam forum, social networks. Just think about it, for a long term if working on your SEO, you will get thousand of traffics over the year for each post you publish. Adding all of them up, you get a good amount of traffic. :D

But they really rock those shirts. What can I say? And I don’t think it sucks, within reason. It’s one of several tools in the toolbelt, right?

I personally don’t like SEO because it confuses the $%^ out of me honestly, but I do try every possible way I come across to improve my blog and the amount of traffic it gets. SEO works and is better then traffic programs in the long run, but social networking helps until then.

Shanker Bakshi: I posted two new posts on my blog Web Money today answering your questions in your comment.
1. The scrolling box
2. How to dofollow and nofollow
