12seconds

Basically the thing is that twitter is the most recent phenomenon happens to web 2.0, there is no doubt about it and almost every week we witness new twitter tool, apps or something instinctive out of Twitter API.

But then these three guys David Beach, Sol Lipman, Jacob Knobel come up with this idea that there will be more fun if you can visualize your tweets, I mean why to express what you are doing in 140 words, and you can express the same in 12 second video. 12seconds.tv is a Twitter-like video status service. It gives you 12 seconds to share video moments from your life. The best thing is that not only you can video tweet your presence from web cam of your desktop or laptop but You can record and share 12second updates with just about any mobile phone. You can record your 12second video from TweetDeck.

12seconds is the best place online for video status updates. It’s a super easy way to share what you’re doing with your friends and family using short video clips. You can use your web cam or mobile phone. Show your friends where you are, share your thoughts, or tell them how you’re doing. We are building a video status platform that will help you keep up to date with your friends 12 seconds at a time.

Question for you

Are you at 12second.tv? Do you think video tweet will replace 140 text tweeting experience?

I think this will be a small fad – i cant make 40 tweet videos a day but i can tweet 40 times a day. It is making the service less usable – video is not the right medium for twitter.

12Seconds.tv is an on and off thing. Once they’re used by a blogger, they’re used by all, but then it stops and falls back down. Kind of similar to the recession in a way.

I think the video idea is a good one.. but I’m still not into the whole twitter idea! It really does seem a bit too “big brother” like to me!! Who has time to wonder what other people are doing?!

This is a nice idea, but I think the allure of twitter is that you can quickly fire off a tweet while you’re doing something else.

Do you really think that people will record videos to upload?

Also, a lot of people are still on slow internet connections, which makes using something like this next to impossible.

Hi Shanker,

So it seems this will be the next Twitter but in video. It was a good idea that they allow send videos from your phone, that is the way to compete in this social market. Time will prove if they were right about this idea.
