Sometime ago there was a lot of buzz about the Twitter 1 million followers’ war between CNN and Ashton Kutcher. This strange and unique fight between mainstream Media (CNN) and Hollywood Star Ashton Kutcher fueled when Ashton made a video statement that he wanted to beat CNN to one million followers. Interestingly he promised in that video that if he wins he will “ding dong ditch” billionaire Ted Turner’s (founder of CNN) House. Finally Ashton won this race of 1 million twitter followers and “ding dong Ditch” too at Ted’s house.
Coming to India, now the most beautiful, stunning and talented actress Priyanka Chopra join twitter and tweeting actively from a while. Priyanka has great fan following in India. I know she can make it to 1 Million Twitter Followers soon and can become the first Indian or should I say first Bollywood celebrity to achieve this status. She connected to twitter on June 18th. She is now followed by more than 25000 users (at the time of writing of this post) and I hope very soon she will accomplish the Twitter 1 Million Followers Mark as she is very popular among Indian youth.
Surprisingly biggest star of Indian Film Fraternity Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is still missing the Twitter Magic, when someone from print media asked him:
Mr. Bachchan Have you succumbed to using twitter yet?
Mr. Bachchan relied “What on earth is that?”
Oh that’s really strange he has not heard of twitter yet, I am saying this because he is very active at blogging and continuously updating his blog from last one year without fail. His blog is visited by more than 5 million people every month. I guess soon he will also start tweeting.
Why more and more celebs are getting additive to Twitter
Well if you look at the statistics 7 out of top 10 spot of the most popular Twitter users occupied by Hollywood celebs. Can you suggest and throw a little light on why these celebs are now becoming devotee to twitter?

If priyanka will come to me and will tell me thats this is mine Twitter profile, I might try to believe on it. Why I’m saying this, because I’m tired of these fake celebrity profile and now It’s hard to believe which one is true…

Yeah there are fake celebs profile over there.
But i only publish a post when i am sure that its a real profile and i also believe its a duty on my part not to spread fake profile information.

The real heck here is whether there are a million internet users who are aware of Twitter in the first place.
The catch here is, Tweeting is mostly considered to be a waste of effort and time by most netizens. The usual preferred mode of sending status updates is still thru mail or chat. And its gonna take a long way for twitter to replace that in India.
Million followers, a distant dream.
