Making money with blogging isn’t easy, and it’s not also the only way to make money online. After blogging and craving for money in my first initial year online finally I realize the power of building list. The day when I decided to build-up my opt-in list and bought email marketing auto-responder service MailChimp, it totally change the way I look at the internet. I consider myself now more of an internet marketer then a blogger who blog about what he ate at lunch in the afternoon.

I always hear big bloggers talk about building an email list. I have just started using Aweber to try and build an email list but have only gotten 6 email addresses. So do you prefer mailchimp over Aweber? If so, why? Thanks for the great tips.

You are doing one basic mistake,
Give your readers a reason to subscribe your blog, they ask “What is in there for me”. Offer them a FREE eBook or any product on Singing up.
also place Aweber Subscription Form on your site above the fold ( I can’t see it now, only Feedburner Subscription for is there)
both Aweber and MailChimp Rocks.

The opt in box comes from the top after a few seconds. Should I change this?

Thats pop Up sign up form is good , but you also need to place op-in sign up box at the top of your sdebar.
also if you could make your blog theme look at little more techie, I think you understand what am trying to say here. search for the Theme for Tech Blogs.
I am going to change it right away. I will also have a sign up form on the top of the sidebar.

It is said the money is in the list as once you have a sizable list you can market to you are non relient on seo or other external factors to make income ..keep your list happy and informed you are set for a very long time..Having a good autoresponder is key to success so do not cut corners there..Thanks and Good Luck

Yep, the money is the list….That message is being promoted by most of the successful internet marketers, and it really seems to be the ticket. Getting buy-in is a challenge sometimes, but like Shanker said, offering value in the form of a free e-book or the like is the way to get people to sign up.
