Support Earth Hour this 27th March 2010

Earth hour is more relevant and important to our nation I N D I A than any other country, from past few years we are going through Electricity Cuts, and struggling to produce enough of power to run our machinery uninterested. We should fixed one day for earth hour every month because the situation is getting worse.

Earth Hour 2010 will continue to be a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community. A call to stand up, to show leadership and be responsible for our future.

Pledge your support here and turn off your lights for one hour, Earth Hour, 8.30pm, Saturday 27th March 2010.

Here in South Africa we have similar concerns, and have just been informed that one of the major power stations will be shut down for a total of 4 weeks for maintenance over the next two months (as winter begins…) so as to make sure we can cope with the loads for the football world cup. Let the load shedding rolling blackouts commence…..

Thank goodness I have battery backup for my computer equipment. I can run for 6 – 8 hours on batteries alone. What a pleasure. I am definitely supporting Earth Hour, and will unplug everything for the one hour, whilst still happily working thanks to my backup system.
