Can You Do It Priyanka?

Priyanka Chopra Twitter Background

Sometime ago there was a lot of buzz about the Twitter 1 million followers’ war between CNN and Ashton Kutcher.  This strange and unique fight between mainstream Media (CNN) and Hollywood Star Ashton Kutcher fueled when Ashton made a video statement that he wanted to beat CNN to one million followers. Interestingly he promised in that video that if he wins he will “ding dong ditch” billionaire Ted Turner’s (founder of CNN) House. Finally Ashton won this race of 1 million twitter followers and “ding dong Ditch” too at Ted’s house.

Coming to India, now the most beautiful, stunning and talented actress Priyanka Chopra join twitter and tweeting actively from a while. Priyanka has great fan following in India. I know she can make it to 1 Million Twitter Followers soon and can become the first Indian or should I say first Bollywood celebrity to achieve this status.  She connected to twitter on June 18th. She is now followed by more than 25000 users (at the time of writing of this post) and I hope very soon she will accomplish the Twitter 1 Million Followers Mark as she is very popular among Indian youth.

Surprisingly biggest star of Indian Film Fraternity Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is still missing the Twitter Magic, when someone from print media asked him:

Mr. Bachchan Have you succumbed to using twitter yet?

Mr. Bachchan relied “What on earth is that?

Oh that’s really strange he has not heard of twitter yet, I am saying this because he is very active at blogging and continuously updating his blog from last one year without fail. His blog is visited by more than 5 million people every month. I guess soon he will also start tweeting.

Why more and more celebs are getting additive to Twitter

Well if you look at the statistics 7 out of top 10 spot of the most popular Twitter users occupied by Hollywood celebs. Can you suggest and throw a little light on why these celebs are now becoming devotee to twitter?

Followed By Five Thousand

It’s good to see I am now followed by 5000 people of twitter. This Sunday when @GIFT4Tw8 Clicked on my “follow” button probably he did not know that he was my 5000th Twitter follower. It’s cool; great to see when you tweet something and it appears on twitter’s 5000 user’s screen. It’s not easy to get as many followers for me until I learn to handle twitter through some useful lethal tools to do tweeting in great style. Let me share with you how I tweet.

Twitter Follower: You Scratch my back and I’ll Scratch yours

When someone follows you on twitter he/she expects you to follow him/her back, it’s as simple as that. People with equal numbers of followers and people followed by are the once who preferably followed by more people. My Guru John Chow has come up with a new startup called TwitterFollower.com. You can use it for mass unfollow people whom you are following and who are not actually following you back.

TweetDeck

I use TweetDeck for tweeting. It’s a powerful tweeter application designed in adobe AIR. This made my tweeting experience really easy and handy.

Twitter Page Background.

I have designed my twitter background. I think this helps me get more followers. Your twitter page background must look impressive, if someone land on my twitter page he immediately click that ’Follow’ button and moreover he also visit to my blog through that link given at the top right of Twitter page. I have designed my Twitter background by myself but if you wish you could find some free resource where you can get your twitter background deigned.

Tweetlater

This Twitter Tools has so many features like posting a direct message immediately when someone follows you. Schedule tweets and keep your Twitter stream ticking over with new tweets even when you’re not in front of your computer. Publish tweets when your international followers are online and you’re asleep.

What’s your Twitter Story?

Share your experience with twitter in comments section below. Thanks for following me.

Following Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor on Twitter

Ha has served as the UN Under-Secretary General to Kofi Annan. He was the official candidate of India for the office of United Nations Secretary-General and came second out of seven official candidates in the race.He is an author, journalist, human-rights advocate, humanitarian and adviser and fellow of various institutions. He is now a member of Indian Parliament and you can now follow him on Twitter

He is the one among those couple of MPs who knows what twitter is among 543 newly elected members of Parliament. I’m talking about Shashi Tharoor, MP from the Trivandrum constituency in Kerala. Fifteenth Lok Shabha (Indian Parliament) is not the youngest so far, it has only 36 members between ages of 30-40 but look at this figure; 68 members are between ages of 70-80.

Internet Social media sites played a vital role in Barak Obama’s victory; there is no doubt about it. Inspired by that Indian politician spend a big amount of their election campaign on Internet advertising, you remember that Advani for PM ad flashing all over internet space in India.  I have seen some contestants writing blogs before election to grab Indian youth attention; don’t know whether they would carry their blogging thing after winning elections.

Rahul Gandhi Also uses Twitter and was updating it while he was working hard campaigning for victories Indian National Congress.

Internet and India both are definitely changing. What say?

If you are big at one place that dose not give you a Right that you would be consider big everywhere, here I am the boss.

-Shanker Bakshi

I love to use this phrase whenever something like above happens, there are examples when these biggies failed miserably and trophy lifted by the Guys Next Door.

I think you are now aware of CNN and Ashton Kutcher Twitter I million followers Race. This fight between mainstream Media (CNN) and Hollywood Star Ashton Kutcher fueled when Ashton made a video statement that he wanted to beat CNN to one million followers. Interestingly he promised in that video that if he wins he will “ding dong ditch” billionaire Ted Tuner’s (founder of CNN) House. “Ding Dong Ditch” is a sort of game played by children when they go up to a person’s house, ring their doorbell, then run away and watch as they look around to see who’s there.

Now as the war is over and Ashton Kutcher hits 1 Million Twitter Followers mark beating CNN in this race, I’m eagerly waiting when Ashton will stream the video of him Ding Dong Ditch at Ted Tuner house. Go Ashton Go, we are following you :-)

With a fictitious company called Flutter which is a micro blogging site with 26 words to express “what are you doing”, CEO Zak Ryman comically illustrate what would be twitter doing in our lives in coming years.

Although it’s a video made for fun but somewhere it also make a point to think are we really going this much crazy with “twitter”. End is hilarious.

Twitter to Integrate The Discovery Engine Search

April 2, 2009 by Shanker Bakshi

Twitter co -founder Biz Stone finally confirm it on Official Twitter Blog that they wish to integrate real time twitter search within twitter home page. They call it The Discovery Engine. There will be a new search feature in the sidebar on Twitter home page, when you do a search, you don’t go to another page; the relevant tweets instantly show up where you’d expect them to right on your home page where tweets love to be.

Interestingly to explain this biz refers to the original sketch which was formed in old fashioned way back in July 2008.

Twitter was initially started as stat.us and there is very exciting story behind it. Twitter founder Jack Dorsey explain it as:

On May 31st, 2000, I signed up with a new service called LiveJournal. I was living in the Sunshine Biscuit Factory in Oakland California and starting a company to dispatch couriers, taxis, and emergency services from the web. One night in July of that year I had an idea to make a more “live” LiveJournal. Real-time, up-to-date, from the road. Akin to updating your AIM status from wherever you are, and sharing it. For the next 5 years, I thought about this concept and tried to silently introduce it into my various projects. It slipped into my dispatch work. It slipped into my networks of medical devices. It slipped into an idea for a frictionless service market. It was everywhere I looked: a wonderful abstraction which was easy to implement and understand.

He made a sketch back in 2000 to explain how this service will look like. Here is that original Sketch, I guess twitter looks very much like this sketch made almost a decade ago.
